Texas universities have excellent programs that emphasize water resources research and related education. In some cases, universities have established water resources centers or institutes that address a specific subject or the water needs of a geographic area. In other instances, academic departments or colleges at universities in Texas have developed outstanding research and education programs. Some of the centers and institutes provide educational programs for the general public.
